The Farnese Gardens are located on the Palatine Hill, once the heart of ancient Rome. Since 2007, WMF has supported the conservation of the Casina Farnese, and in 2014 the aviaries were listed on the 2014 World Monuments Watch, spurring restoration work to combat their advanced state of decay. Farnese Aviaries: Work and Projects 2012-2016 describes the range or works carried out at the Farnese Gardens in recent years.
