World Monuments Fund Presents
WMF in Venice: 50 Years of Commitment
On November 4, 1966, unprecedented flooding hit Venice, causing tremendous damage to the historic city and many of its buildings. World Monuments Fund, then the International Fund for Monuments, was among the earliest respondents to the devastating natural disaster. In the decades following the floods, we have remained committed to protecting and preserving Venice's architectural heritage. The selection of WMF projects highlighted in this presentation reflects our longstanding and enduring commitment to Venice, one of the world's great cities.
